Midshire pumped for heart foundation partnership

Local managed print service provider Midshire® is thrilled to announce it is now an official partner of the British Heart Foundation.

The largest independent funder of cardiovascular research in the UK, the British Heart Foundation (BHF) currently raises over £100 million per year for life saving research into heart-related illnesses, including: heart disease, heart attack, and heart failure.

With 7 million people living with cardiovascular disease in Britain today, the BHF’s work has never been so important. Midshire has partnered with the organisation to help fund its vital research, and is planning a number of activities in the next few months.

Midshire’s IT Sales Manager, Stuart Carruthers comments: “When it comes to heart-related disease, I don’t think people are aware of just how many people are still affected by it today, that’s why we’re excited to be involved with the British Heart Foundation. Their work over the last half century has saved millions of lives around the world, and we’re very proud to help in any way we can.”

Since 2008, BHF has provided over £58 million of funding to six ‘Centres of Research Excellence’ in the UK, including the universities of Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Oxford, King’s College and Imperial College London.

Donated by customer Life Leisure, Midshire’s offices will compete head to head on static bikes for a gruelling coast-to-coast ‘Midshire on Tour’ ride in August to support the Foundation.

Natalie Bunyan, Fundraising Manager at the British Heart Foundation says: “Thanks to amazing supporters like Midshire, we’ve been funding research into heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors for over 50 years.

“Heart and circulatory diseases devastate families every single day. They cause heartbreak on every street. But we want to beat heartbreak forever. Our research is only funded through public generosity and through joining forces with organisations like Midshire. This type of community engagement helps to raise valuable funds to research cures and treatments into heart and circulatory disease, so we can beat heartbreak forever.”

BHF recently rolled out three Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training courses to Midshire’s staff, which further highlighted the importance of raising awareness and laid the foundations for the new partnership.
