DIB UK Planning, Property & Regeneration Conference 2021

Downtown in Business will be hosting its first national planning, property, and regeneration conference at the world- famous Belfry Hotel in September 2021.

Downtown in Business in association with Lancashire County Council, will be hosting a major business conference on Thursday 21st October 2021 at Brockholes.

The event will focus on the work of the county’s All Party Parliamentary Group, the Capital of Culture bid, the Eden of the North project, and Lancashire’s vision for its post-COVID future.

Gary Neville

Best known now for his football punditry on Sky Sports, Neville has significant business interests in both the property and hospitality sectors – as well as owning his own football club. In addition, he has been active in the recently established UnitedCity group whose key objective is to see a successful return of economic activity in our major towns and cities.

Lord Andrew Adonis

Lord Adonis is a British Labour Party politician and journalist who served in government for five years in the Tony Blair and Gordon Brown administrations. In addition his political career, Lord Adonis became a weekly columnist for The New European in 2018.

Tom Bloxham

Tom Bloxham MBE is chairman and founder of award-winning regeneration company Urban Splash, which has received 419 awards to date for architecture, design and business success.

John James

James, who manages a property portfolio that is valued at north of £1billion, is credited for the renewal of Soho as a twenty-first century hub of eclectic placemaking initiatives, bringing together the commercial, creative, and cultural communities.

laURA SHOAF

Laura has held a number of senior roles in the West Midlands including Head of Strategic Planning & Implementation at the Black Country Consortium, the Black Country Director of Transport and the Strategic Director for Transport at the West Midlands Integrated Transport Authority. Laura is responsible for the development of integrated transport in the West Midlands and for delivering a £4 billion transport package over the next 10 years which is fundamental to the delivery of economic regeneration in the region.

jOANNE RONEY

Joanne, who joined the Council in April 2017, started in local government as an apprentice aged 16 and has worked her way to the top, with a strong track record in transforming public services and delivering major regeneration initiatives. She joined Manchester City Council from Wakefield Council where she had been chief executive since 2008.

Deborah Cadman OBE

Deborah became Chief Executive of the West Midlands Combined Authority in September 2017, following a long and distinguished career in public service. After gaining a degree in politics, she began her career in 1984 with the London Borough of Newham, before moving to Birmingham City Council where she worked on major regeneration projects and gained a master’s degree in economics.

TIM HEATLEY

Tim trained as a lawyer and left law behind to found social impact developer Capital&Centric, he started out renovating a derelict house in his home town of Salford and he now invests over £2m a week on regeneration projects with a positive social impact. Tim is founder of Regeneration Brainery, an academy aimed at broadening diversity and inclusivity in property, each year it mentors over 100 young adults throughout the UK. He is the Chair and a founding trustee of the Greater Manchester Mayors Charity which has raised £3m in the past two years alone. Last year he featured on BBC2’s ‘Manctopia’ documentary about the property boom and his work on homelessness.
