The Speaker of the House, Lindsay Hoyle, will be the guest of honour at the Downtown in Business Parliamentary Reception, which takes place on the evening of Monday 18th October at the Palace of Westminster.

The Chorley MP will be joined by a range of Ministers, Shadow Ministers and Lords, including Transport Minister Andrew Stephenson, and the Shadow Minister for Culture & Sport, Alison McGovern.

DIB boss Frank McKenna said: “I am delighted that Mr Speaker has agreed to join us for what promises to be a fantastic evening. He is one of the most influential, witty, and warm parliamentarians in the House, and to have him as our guest of honour for the Reception is a genuine pleasure for us.

“We are expecting a couple of dozen parliamentarians to attend the event, and it provides a great opportunity for our members to connect with MPs and Lords from across the political parties. I am sure it will be a great night.”
