Join us online to discover a wealth of opportunities to take your career to the next level through University Study in Burnley

Don’t let Covid-19 restrictions put the brakes on your ambitious plans for academic and career success.

UCB (University Courses Burnley) is staging its forthcoming university open event online to ensure that potential students can benefit from expert advice and guidance and do something different in their chosen industry.

You are invited to join potential fellow students, approachable Lecturers and experienced Support Staff online on:

  • Wednesday, 17 June 2020
  • Between 10-30am and 3pm
  • Via our Live UCB Facebook Event or our website burnley.ac.uk/university.

The virtual event will showcase the exciting range of opportunities available for those considering degree-level study on their doorstep, with UCB located at the heart of Burnley College’s £100 million town centre Campus, within easy reach of transport links and offering ample, free, onsite parking .

In its first online event of this kind, UCB will offer visitors the chance to discover more about the 55-plus degree-level courses offered in nine specialist, industry-focussed schools:

Business | Computer Science | Construction | Creative Industries | Engineering | Furniture | Health and Wellbeing | Humanities and Social Sciences | Sport, Fitness and Public Services.

Industry-expert Lecturers will lead sessions outlining the university-level courses on offer in their specialist school, as well as answering questions and leading interactive activities which introduce concepts, skills and knowledge relevant to industry.

Support staff will also be available to provide important financial advice and guidance for those considering degree-level study to progress or change their career or follow their vocation. Insights into the comprehensive academic and health and wellbeing support available to all UCB undergraduates will also be available online during the day.

Dean of UCB Emma Hurst said:

“We understand that Covid-19 has impacted on so many people – both on a personal and professional level. Many people will have felt like their lives have been on hold but, now, UCB wants to offer the opportunity to start thinking ahead and making plans for the future – a successful future where you can be something different.

“While Government restrictions mean that we can’t throw open the doors of our amazing university-level learning hub, we’ve taken all the great advice, guidance, information and support we’re renown for and are offering it online.

“A great schedule of activities been drawn up for the day and is now available on our official UCB Facebook page and on our website. I’d encourage anyone aged 19-plus who is ready to make their ambition become their reality, to follow their dream and to become a leader in their chosen field to check online now. Make a note of the sessions you’d like to attend; set a reminder in your phone or on the calendar and join in the virtual open event.

“Of course, if you can’t make it on the day, we’ll make sure that all the sessions will be available for you to view later. Plus, our Lecturers and Support Staff are always available to answer all your questions and help you personalise your own journey to degree success, whatever your starting point and whatever your goals.”
