GMCA boss outlines plans for regeneration, Northern Powerhouse Progress and economic development

The Midland Hotel played host to the latest Downtown Manchester in Business dinner last week, supported by Mace Group. Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Eamonn Boylan took centre stage to give Downtown members an insight into GMCA plans around regeneration and spatial planning, Northern Powerhouse Progress, health & social care and economic development.

Eamonn advised they were working hard to secure a deal with government to allow Greater Manchester more powers to influence the local skills agenda, which he see’s as a key component in making Greater Manchester an inclusive and thriving place to live and work.

Downtown Manchester Chair, Dianne Modahl said “It has been a fantastic month for Downtown Manchester in Business. Our members have had the opportunity to hear first-hand from Sir Richard Leese, Andy Burnham, Joanne Roney and now Eamonn Boylan.

It is certainly an exciting time for the city and wider city region and to see Greater Manchester go from strength to strength gives the private sector plenty of reason to be confident about the future.”

Downtown will end the month with an exclusive dinner with Sir Howard Bernstein at The Lowry Hotel on Thursday 29th March. To register your interest contact chris.mckenna@downtowninbusiness.com
