The Role

  • Manage the generation of new business, to maximise sales and profit and meet/exceed assigned sales targets and objectives
  • Identify new opportunities to increase sales to existing members
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships with members
  • Record all contact notes in company CRM and manage members and prospects pipeline in the CRM
  • Work with colleagues to deliver joined-up member/prospect service levels
  • Attend networking events
  • Monthly reporting to Directors

We are looking for an outgoing, ambitious, organised, dynamic individual, with a great track record in sales to join our growing team.

During the past twelve months DIB has seen a record growth in membership and we are looking to continue that momentum into 2022 as we expand the Downtown brand into new areas of the country.

We are seeking an experienced, customer facing, new business, salesperson who can create leads and close deals across the Northwest of England. 

Although you will be situated in our Liverpool city centre office, you will operate across the region and also cover Cheshire, and Lancashire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has the ability to drive membership sales, wants to work for a growing company with the chance of promotion and progression, and who wants to belong to a team that works hard, plays hard and have one another’s backs.

Working from home is not an option unless Boris locks us all down again! 

The role:

  • To sell DIB membership packages to high growth, entrepreneurial companies across the Northwest of England.
    To attend and help populate the DIB events programme in Liverpool, Lancashire, and Cheshire.
    Contribute to the updating and management of the CRM system
    General business administration.

The purpose of this role is to drive and develop the online offering for Downtown in Business (DIB). This includes overseeing all marketing activities with a particular focus on the online sales and digital marketing strategy.

It also involves seeking new opportunities for online and offline marketing campaigns, selling advert space in a regular printed magazine and leading on the expansion of DIB’s online reach.

This role will see you working closely with all other areas of the business to ensure a collaborative and joined up approach to the overall DIB goals and planned, executed and achieved.


  • Liaise and network with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organisations.
  • Develop sales and marketing strategies and campaigns and ensure the effective delivery via the most relevant route to market.
  • Responsible for delivery of the marketing and sponsorship budget including forecasted growth in web sales to pre-determined cost per acquisition by brand.
  • Maintain and grow knowledge of target market and audience and be responsive to their changing needs.
  • Ensure that knowledge of the landscape of marketing is up-to-date and relevant to allow proactive marketing.
  • Monitor competitor activities.
  • Monitor and collect statistical information and analyse in order to determine the success of campaigns. Report findings to the relevant persons and or departments.
  • Liaise with relevant internal departments to create and develop content for marketing materials such as brochures, videos, adverts and online marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with the production of regular digital newsletters.
  • Assist with the production of quarterly magazine DQ.
  • Identify and assist with selling advertising space in quarterly magazine DQ.
  • Represent the brand at networking events and meetings and ensure brand integrity is maintained at all times.
  • Participate in Downtown in Business’ Performance Review and Development Scheme.
  • Be able to work flexibly and diligently at all times.

  • Any other reasonable duties as may be required for the proper execution of this role.
