A national business conference ‘Trade Unlocked’, which will take place at the NEC Birmingham on Tuesday 20th June 2023, is being supported by Downtown in Business.
The one-day conference will be attended by 1,000 delegates from across the UK, among them senior politicians, academics, and local government leaders.
The group chairman and chief executive of DIB, Frank McKenna explained,
“Post Brexit, post pandemic, we need to begin to create a plan for growth. We are working with a collection of business organisations, including the Northwest Business Leadership Team, the British Irish Trade Alliance, and conference organisers Best for Britain, to bring together politicians, entrepreneurs, leading academics, and business leaders, to influence the thinking of our political parties, as they prepare to draw up their manifestos for a 2024 General Election.
“Undoubtedly, the economy has never been as challenging and unpredictable in modern times. To have a degree of certainty about the future direction of the country, we need a growth strategy. Hopefully, we can suggest some practical policies that the politicians will see as potential solutions to the difficulties we face.”
