Welcome Tom

The former head honcho at Salford City Council, Tom follows in the footsteps of Joanne Roney.

Tom Stannard started his new role as chief executive of Manchester City Council this week.

The former head honcho at Salford City Council, Tom follows in the footsteps of Joanne Roney, who is now the Managing Director at Birmingham City Council.

Stannard takes up the reigns as Manchester prepares to bring forward the 2025-2030 Our Manchester Strategy, an economic growth plan for the remainder of this decade.

Downtown in Business group chairman and chief executive Frank McKenna said:

“We are looking forward to continuing our working relationship with Tom, who we have got to know well during his four-year terms at Salford. He has always been very engaged with the DIB network, and I know that he will be given a warm welcome by all of our Manchester members.”

Tom and council leader Cllr Bev Craig will be among the speakers at DIB’s Manchester Parliamentary Reception in Westminster on Thursday 24th April. You can book your tickets here.
