On 17th September 2025, Downtown in Business hosted an exclusive Leader’s Lunch with Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price at the beautiful Chester Townhouse. The venue provided the perfect backdrop for a lively and engaging discussion that brought together local leaders, business representatives, and stakeholders from across the region. This event formed part of our ongoing series of conversations designed to connect decision-makers with the business community and provide a platform for tackling the most pressing issues facing Cheshire and Warrington.
The discussion covered a wide range of important themes. Commissioner Dan Price set out his priorities for crime reduction and neighbourhood policing, emphasising the importance of visible policing and the value of building stronger trust with local communities. Attendees also explored how to strengthen community engagement, ensuring that residents feel both represented and empowered in shaping local safety initiatives. A key part of the conversation also centred on the urgent need for modernisation within policing structures, including the use of technology and data to improve responsiveness, efficiency, and effectiveness in tackling crime.
Another significant topic was the case for greater devolution in Cheshire and Warrington. Participants discussed how devolved powers could enable local leaders to make more effective decisions about policing, community safety, and public services tailored specifically to the needs of the area. By shifting greater decision-making powers from Westminster to local government, the group agreed that Cheshire and Warrington could better address its unique challenges, unlock new opportunities for growth, and foster safer, more resilient communities.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to The Hospitality Hero for sponsoring today’s event. Their continued support of our activities helps us to bring together key voices and maintain the conversation around vital regional priorities. We are also delighted to highlight their new book, Bee Our Guest, which is out now — an inspiring read for anyone interested in the future of hospitality and customer experience.
