Leading business and financial advisory firm Grant Thornton UK LLP has appointed Matt Buckingham as Head of Commercial Audit in Birmingham.

Leading business and financial advisory firm Grant Thornton UK LLP has appointed Matt Buckingham as Head of Commercial Audit in Birmingham.

Matt, who joined the firm as a partner in 2019, will be based at Grant Thornton’s recently opened 17th floor office at 103 Colmore Row. In his new role, he will be responsible for a team of approximately 120 auditors working across a wide range of different business types and sectors.

Matt has built up 27 years of audit experience in Birmingham, working closely with the city’s businesses and supporting a wide range of plc, private-equity backed companies, mid-market and family owned businesses.

Helping to grow the region’s businesses will remain a key aspect of Matt’s role alongside people focused responsibilities, such as supporting a strong office culture and fostering an environment for young talent to develop.
