Feedo Needo, a project to support those experiencing homelessness, set up by The UK Curriculum and Accreditation Body (UKCAB) recently collaborated with United By Birmingham 2022, the official charity of the Commonwealth Games 2022, for a local charity-based project.
United By Birmingham 2022 is a legacy charity which brings together community projects within the West Midlands to deliver a catalyst for change, help the region grow and succeed, and bring people together.
Rafa Ahmed, Project Manager at Feedo Needo, said: “The aim of this project is to promote health and wellbeing through our food bank and the food services we provide, with help from The Gym Group.
“We are incredibly proud to be working with another local charity that celebrates the Commonwealth being here this summer and raising awareness around healthy eating in Birmingham.”
The Gym Group is also helping by dropping off nutritious food donations to the food bank to encourage healthy eating for everyone. They are also hosting free workout sessions, to help inspire physical activity for the summer of the Commonwealth Games.
Danika Neal, General Manager at The Gym Group at Birmingham Broad Street said: “Feedo Needo are in the heart of our community, we wanted to partner with them because we love what they stand for and everything they do for the residents of Birmingham.
“We believe that fitness and a healthy lifestyle is for all. From nutrition to exercise, The Gym Group want to help to make it accessible to everyone.”
