The Downtown in Business national Property and Regeneration conference that was due to take place in Birmingham on 15th September has been postponed.

A new date of Thursday 9th February has been announced for the event, following the announcement of a national rail dispute that is due to take place on the original date.

DIB chief executive Frank McKenna said:

“We are disappointed and frustrated to have to make this decision. It is the second time this year that we have had to re-arrange a major event due to strike action. A number of our speakers have already contacted us to say they would be unable to attend due to the dispute, and it would have been challenging for many of the delegates to get to Birmingham too.

“I am sure that we will be able to confirm most of the speakers for the new date – and add one or two names as well. Nonetheless, it is disappointing that we have had to make this call, and I can only apologise to all those who have booked tickets for any inconvenience caused.

“Confirmed tickets will, of course, be valid for the new date, and we will release further details of the conference later this month.”
