Sustainability in Business: Making your Organisation Green

Downtown in Business Birmingham have the pleasure of hosting a special lunchtime panel discussion focused around Sustainability in Business and how to make your organisation green.
We welcome four panellists; Professor Rashid Gatrad from ‘World Against Single Use Plastic’, Anna Bright from ‘Sustainability West Midlands’, Chris Rushbrooke from Northern Bear and Amber Greenhalgh of ‘B&M Waste Services’ to join us in discussing past, present and future environmental sustainability in business.
World Against Single Use Plastic was founded by Professor Rashid Gatrad at the Manor Hospital (Walsall) in January 2019 and focuses on raising awareness through posters, videos talks etc and practically discussing with various groups how to decrease the use of plastic in their organisations.
Sustainability West Midlands (SWM) are a not-for-profit organisation who work with their members in the business, public and voluntary sectors acting as a catalyst for environmental change and developing practical solutions with their members. Chief Executive of SWM, Anna Bright start has been with the organisation since 2013 and is responsible for the operations of the organisation, as well as delivering a range of programmes and projects.
B&M Waste Services offer a Carbon Neutral, reliable and proactive waste and recycling solution to businesses across the region. Amber Greenhalgh joined B&M Waste Services in 2017 as Commercial Director and bought with her over 14 years’ experience within the waste recycling sector.
Join Downtown In Business for an event that looks to the future of sustainability in business; this lunch event will take place on 19th March 2020 from 12:00pm. We’ll begin with some light networking and then move on to lunch service; thereafter we’ll get to hear from our guest speakers who will be speaking to us about what we as business owners and influencers can be doing to create minimal negative impact on the local and global environment. Finishing the afternoon with a Q&A session for any questions that you might have.
