On Wednesday 4th February 2026 Downtown in Business hosted a Drink Tank event at The Clubhouse, welcoming Cllr Carl Cashman in partnership with Bright Blue. The event brought together business leaders and stakeholders for an evening of discussion and debate.

Senior MPs from across government and opposition came together with leading figures from hospitality, retail, tourism and the wider visitor economy in Westminster on Thursday 29th January 2026 for the official parliamentary launch of the Unlocking Britain’s Visitor Economy campaign.

On Wednesday 21st January 2026 , DIB had the pleasure of hosting a drinks reception at Inside by Meliá Liverpool, in collaboration with The R&A, bringing together partners and stakeholders to discuss the 154th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale Golf Club.

On Thursday 22nd January 2026 Downtown in Business hosted a Leaders Lunch with Rick Parry at Oddfellows Chester. This event offered a fascinating and insightful look into leadership at the highest levels of football.

Tuesday evening saw leaders from across the construction sector come together at the Liverpool Malmaison to hear from Liverpool City Region Mayor, Steve Rotheram, Leader of Liverpool City Council, Liam Robinson and Mindflow CEO, Trevor Steven on how the sector must work together to reduce suicide rates and improve mental health.

On Tuesday 20th January 2026, Downtown in Business was pleased to host the Powering the North: Devolution Lunch at Malmaison, Manchester, convening senior leaders from Lancashire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester for a focused and constructive roundtable discussion.

Big winners on the evening included Phil Brown from Causeway Technologies, Robbie Blackhurst from Black Capital Group and Cathryn Wright from Sedulo.

The Downtown in Business Cheshire & North Wales Business Awards celebrate the people and organisations making that success happen.
