Warrington Borough Council has appointed Steve Park, currently Executive Director of Place, as its interim Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service.
He will assume the role on 1 July, following the retirement of current Chief Executive, Professor Steven Broomhead MBE.
The interim appointment was approved by council members at a meeting earlier this week.
Steve Park brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience in local government. Before joining the public sector, he held prominent roles in the private sector, with a focus on business transformation, finance, and IT.
Council Leader Cllr Hans Mundry said:
“Steve has a strong track record and extensive knowledge of local government, coupled with a deep understanding of Warrington and its communities. He is also highly motivated to make a positive impact.
His leadership and experience will be vital as we move forward with our programme of improvement and transformation.”
