Andy will work alongside Digital Cake directors, Chris and Cheryl Thomas and Kirstie Smith, to provide transformative support and strategic growth planning as the agency focuses efforts on evolving its products and services to help retailer clients.

An agency founded by retailers, for retailers, Digital Cake has more than doubled its employee headcount in the last 12 months. With over 30 years working in creative service businesses as a founder, agency head, advisor and coach, Andy has come onboard to help the Birmingham agency realise its ambitious growth plans, having previously shaped the growth strategy of other category-defining agencies including Essence and agenda21.

Commenting on his new role, Andy Brown, said:

“The success of Digital Cake has been built on a unique understanding of the rapidly evolving needs of retailers in a digital-first age. In our early discussions I was asked how we could integrate their desire to ‘do good’ into the business planning. Who wouldn’t be excited at the prospect of working with a successful, disruptive and purpose-led organisation like Digital Cake? It’s a pleasure to be working with the leadership team.”

Chris Thomas, CEO and Founder at Digital Cake, comments:

“This is such an exciting time for Digital Cake, and we’re so pleased to have Andy on board to help us further strengthen the team and help take the business to the next level. The last three years have flown by and we’ve achieved so much. We’re now more ambitious than ever and we can’t wait to drive the business forward with Andy’s expertise. We’ve carved a great place for ourselves in the digital marketing sector and now it’s time to build on the foundations we’ve laid.”

Following a milestone year which saw the agency make almost £1 million in sales, Digital Cake continues to put Birmingham on the map for innovative digital marketing, working with a number of homegrown Midlands brands including Birmingham Museums Trust, Dancing Leopard, P&Co and 304 Clothing.
