Livercool was the first large business of its kind to be take place since lockdown began in March 2020. 250 people who all tested negative for COVID in the 24 hours prior to the event headed to the ACC Liverpool in their best masks to celebrate businesses and business leaders who had excelled throughout the year in a socially distanced manner. Winners included Fazenda, Claire McColgan, Paul Askew and Glenville Walker.

Downtown in Business’ Head of Events Heather Thornton commented “We’re extremely thrilled to be nominated for the award, all the Downtown in Business and ACC Liverpool teams put an incredible amount of effort into getting Livercool off the ground last year and we managed to deliver a safe socially distanced event whilst Liverpool was in Tier 2 in December. We not only managed to prove events were viable in a COVID safe but showed that Liverpool could lead the way in bringing events back to the UK.”

The voting for the awards is all offline but all the team are keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll be able to celebrate a win to round off a very busy year for all the Downtown team and head into our impressive events calendar for 2021!
