Downtown in Business Leeds is back with another event in our much-loved Leaders Lunch series. On Wednesday the 9th October we will be joined by Angela Barnicle, Chief Officer for Asset Management and Regeneration at Leeds City Council.
Topic:
The evolution of the Leeds City Region looking to the future and opportunities for growth and regeneration.
Over recent years, the Leeds City region has faced some significant challenges but is now looking towards the future and opportunities for growth. For example, the Asset Management & Regeneration team, of which Angela is Chief Officer, is currently engaged in a number of Place Programmes across the Leeds City Region including the delivery of the East Leeds Orbital Extension, which will release an additional 5,000 homes for the City.
As Chief Officer, Angela is playing a key role in implementing many of these projects and overseeing transformation of the city, for example the ongoing redevelopment of the South Bank including the delivery of British Library North and the Leeds Innovation District.
Her experience makes her an ideal authority to speak on how we best manage and make the most of assets and investment to promote regeneration.
About the Speaker:
Angela is a Commercial Practice Surveyor, RICS assessor and Registered Valuer focusing on helping clients deliver estate transformation and strategic development.
Having dealt with all aspects of commercial property and development, she now leads the Asset Management and Regeneration Programmes for Leeds City Council, having joined in 2017. Here Angela focuses on delivering optimum place and real estate solutions and realising development opportunities for this international city, at the heart of the UK.
In addition, Angela leads the programme team for the Leeds City Region HS2 Growth Strategy and Leeds Railway Station redevelopment.
Benefits of Attending:
Hear Insights from an Industry Expert: Angela has a passion for cities, economic development and with it delivering transformational change and inclusive growth. She will be providing some truly invaluable insights and sharing the wisdom she has gained from her career so far.
Networking with Key Figures: Be part of a fantastic opportunity to network and connect with not just Angela herself but also other influential figures in the Leeds business world and beyond.
This event is a must for anyone working in or with an interest in the Leeds City region, in particular anyone interested in how their business can contribute to regeneration and place building will benefit greatly from Angela’s insights.
