about the event
The current government made a promise to ‘level up’ to address regional inequality but two years on, what does it mean? With news HS2 to Leeds is now on hold and ‘The Northern Powerhouse’ brand seemingly dead, how will this affect Leeds?
At this exclusive lunch we will be joined by CEO and Leader of Leeds City Council, Tom Riordan and James Lewis.
During the session we will be discussing some key points including:
- Where does NP go next – should northerners control the north’s destiny rather than waiting for London?
- How can we reshape / refocus it to leverage the investment we need to realise our full potential
- How can we use this collective lobbying to our advantage
- What would a ‘northern ask’ to Government look like and what do we need to put in place to secure it
