Located on William Brown Street, Liverpool, the Walker Art Gallery is home to exquisite paintings, sculptures and decorative art from the 13th century to the present day. For 130 years it has housed Liverpool’s most outstanding art collection.
Against the backdrop of a beautiful setting, Krol Corlett Construction celebrated its award-winning refurbishment work at the Walker Art Gallery in early November this year. Dubbed a ‘Night at the Gallery’, the construction company hosted an exclusive post-project launch event to showcase the internal and external refurbishment works completed in four of the galleries.
Special consideration was given to working with irreplaceable artwork and antique objects that were located within close proximity to the main work areas. The Krol Corlett team worked closely with National Museums Liverpool, architect Donald Insall, Project Managers Buro 4 and other key stakeholders within the design team, to ensure the project was completed in a safe and timely manner while being mindful that the building was still open to the public as the works were completed.
This prestigious project was completed in February, earlier this year, and was finished to the National Museum Liverpool’s quality standards and satisfaction.
In a joint celebration of the project completion, Krol Corlett Construction also celebrated its belated 50th anniversary, where three generations of the Krol family were in attendance.
Krol Corlett Construction Director, Simon Krol reflected on the fabulous evening that was ‘A Night at the Gallery’, recalling that “the Krol Corlett team and I were delighted to welcome guests for an amazing evening of live entertainment in an absolutely stunning setting. We raised a glass and toasted the newly refurbished galleries, and it was a pleasure to showcase the project to our guests. I hope and am sure this will be the first of many Krol Corlett events to come in the future.”
Accompanied by delicious food and flowing drinks, guests also recalled a ‘Night at the Gallery’ to be a wonderful and phenomenal night that showcased the beautiful refurbishment work that Krol Corlett did at the Walker Art Gallery.
