Businesses across Lancashire are being encouraged to make use of Boost, the county’s fully funded business support service, which has assisted more than 2,000 companies since September 2023.
Led by Lancashire County Council, Boost – Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub – has supported 2,108 businesses between September 2023 and March 2025. This includes direct support through in-house programmes, advice on accessing finance, and referrals to regional and sector-specific initiatives.
The service has contributed to the creation of over 230 jobs, supported the launch of more than 30 new businesses, and helped over 150 entrepreneurs preparing to start their own ventures. During the same period, Boost also helped businesses secure more than £4 million in funding through various financial providers.
County Councillor Brian Moore, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Growth at Lancashire County Council, said:
“Lancashire, like the rest of the UK, is operating in a fast-changing and often uncertain business environment. Some companies are in growth mode, while others are facing challenges.
Whatever the case, Lancashire County Council is committed to supporting our business leaders and entrepreneurs. It’s fantastic to see more firms turning to Boost for guidance. But there are many more that could benefit from what it offers. I strongly urge them to get in touch.”
