Can transport investment deliver the ‘Levelling Up’ agenda?

Save the Date. On Thursday 20th October, the High Speed Rail group will be hosting an event to explore how increased transport investment in all parts of the country could deliver on the Government’s flagship ‘Levelling Up’ policy.

The High Speed Rail Group (HSRG) is delighted to invite you to attend our upcoming event taking place on Thursday 20th October, 18:00 – 20:00, at the Institute for High Speed Rail and System Integration, University of Leeds to explore how increased transport investment in all parts of the country could deliver on the Government’s flagship ‘Levelling Up’ policy.

Done right, investment in transport infrastructure can create larger and more unified labour markets, improve peoples’ access to local services, enhance firm-to-firm connectivity, and expand access to new and existing markets. In other words, transport has an essential role to play in levelling up.

Our conversation will be particularly pertinent in light of the upcoming appointment of our new Prime Minister, and will be a timely opportunity to look ahead to the immediate and medium-term future of UK transport, and perhaps offer some sage advice to the new incumbent of Number 10.

There will be a Q&A following the panel discussion so that our panellists and audience members can debate these ideas to their fullest, and the evening will conclude with networking drinks .

A full list of speakers will be confirmed shortly. To confirm your space, please register your attendance here. If you have any queries in the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in contact and our team will be able to follow up with additional information.
