For almost 20 years, Liverpool BID Company has worked at the heart of Liverpool. Delivering ambitious regeneration projects, transforming and improving the public realm, we work on behalf of our 1,000 Levy Payers to make Liverpool city centre a better place to live, work and visit. BIDs, Business Improvement Districts, were born out of a strategy to help businesses work together to improve their environment. BIDs work to ensure city centres can thrive, can attract investment, focus on placemaking and resilience.
Liverpool BID Company was originally established as a pilot scheme in 2004 as one of the first in the UK. The first in the city, Retail & Leisure (originally called City Central) was established first, quickly followed by the Commercial District BID. Now, Liverpool has an expanded BID Area, Culture & Commerce, stretching from Lime Street to the waterfront. It also covers the core retail area of the city centre, from Bold Street to Lord Street and Liverpool ONE in the Retail & Leisure BID.
