The site, a former surface carpark for the adjacent Tesco store received approval in 2020, Watkin Jones completed on the purchase in January 2021. The location is highly connected and desirable, with all of Lewisham’s retail and hospitality on its doorstep. The site is also adjacent to Lewisham DLR station, meaning that most central London locations are within a 30 minute commute.
The project is due for completion in last quarter 2023.
Phil Malthouse, the Partner leading the project at Brock Carmichael, said;
“I am delighted to be working on Lewisham, one of the biggest schemes Brock Carmichael has had through its doors. The scheme is set to make a striking and positive addition to the skyline of Lewisham, offering breath-taking views of the city to future tenants”
He added; “The scheme will positively impact the already vibrant community of Lewisham. Alongside the BTR units there will be 43 affordable apartments, and affordable commercial space targeted at local businesses”.
Gwyn Pritchard, Managing Director at Watkin Jones commented “We are excited to be working with Brock Carmichael to deliver this beautifully designed, sustainable and landmark scheme for Lewisham. It will deliver needed rental homes for a diverse range of people, while its broad social benefits will make it an integral part of Lewisham’s thriving community”.
