We all love Manchester’s dramatic city centre skyline. Now you can get up there, admire the view, take a deep breath, and step off…

We Love MCR Charity has arranged this breath-taking sponsored abseil challenge for 16-17 July, at Castlefield’s One Regent. Thought to be the longest abseil drop ever attempted in the city, this is a one-off opportunity to descend 270 feet whilst taking in stunning panoramic views.

There are just 50 places left “on the rope”, as 110 have already been snapped up. So, if you want to join courageous people including Manchester City Council Leader Cllr Bev Craig and the Lord Mayor of Manchester Cllr Donna Ludford, you should sign up today! Full details of the Challenge and a link to the registration form are found here.

The fee (to cover event costs) is just £30, and abseilers are asked to create a JustGiving page with a minimum sponsorship target of £200.

Ged Carter, Head of We Love MCR Charity, said:

“This is a once in a lifetime chance to take on such a spectacular abseil in Manchester. We aim to raise over £40,000 through our supporters’ brave efforts. We’ll use these vital funds to support ambitious young Mancunians who don’t have “the bank of Mum and Dad” to succeed in their ambitions for success.” The Charity’s unique Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund plans to support over 100 talented young people to succeed this year.
