Downtown in Business (DIB) will convene some of the UK’s most influential civic leaders, government figures, and private sector stakeholders for a landmark Property, Regeneration & Infrastructure Conference this autumn — a timely event that aligns with the government’s renewed focus on accelerating housebuilding and driving regional economic growth.

The high-level gathering will take place on Thursday 11th September at Hotel Voco, Manchester and will bring together thought leaders to discuss how the public and private sectors can collaborate to meet the country’s ambitious housing targets, unlock new infrastructure investment, and stimulate regeneration across the UK’s major cities.

Confirmed keynote speakers include:

· Cllr Liam Robinson, Leader, Liverpool City Council

· Cllr James Lewis, Leader, Leeds City Council

· Pam Smith, Chief Executive, Newcastle City Council

· Joanne Roney, Managing Director, Birmingham City Council

· Neil Rami, Chief Executive, West Midlands Growth Company

· Julie Nugent, Chief Executive, Coventry City Council

· Stephen Young, Chief Executive, Salford City Council

· A UK Government Minister (TBA)

· Alongside senior representatives from some of the UK’s leading property developers and investors

The event will examine how city regions can play a vital role in supporting the national growth agenda, overcoming planning barriers, fast-tracking development, and delivering sustainable communities — all while meeting the government’s targets of delivering 1.5 million new homes over the next five years and boosting productivity in the Midlands and the North.

Frank McKenna, Chief Executive of Downtown in Business, commented:

“As the government doubles down on its commitments to housebuilding, levelling up, and infrastructure investment, this conference couldn’t be more timely. Our cities are central to the UK’s economic recovery and future prosperity — but only if there is bold leadership, real partnership, and the political will to deliver.”

With a focus on delivering solutions, driving innovation, and forging practical partnerships, the conference is expected to attract hundreds of senior decision-makers from across the country.
