Avison Young has reshuffled its Midlands leadership team with experienced professional Tim Evans taking the position of Head of Planning following Nick Hardy’s decision to focus on other areas of the business.
Having headed up large multi-disciplinary teams and acted as lead-consultant to a string of key clients over many years, Tim will now take over managing what is one of the largest and most long-established town planning practices in the region. In addition to setting the team’s strategy, driving growth and overseeing output, Tim will continue to advise existing and new clients.
Tim’s professional practice spans the housing, higher education and logistics sectors and his current client list includes the likes of Loughborough University, Jelson Homes, Barratt David Wilson, Homes England, Defence Infrastructure Organisation and Vital Energy. For his housebuilder and Registered Provider Clients, Tim is overseeing the delivery of around 15,000 new homes across the Midlands.
Tim Evans, Head of the Midlands Planning Team at Avison Young said: “I’m incredibly excited to step into this leadership role after more than 15 years with the business. It’s a real privilege to lead such a well-established and high-performing team, and I’m grateful to my predecessor Nick for the strong foundations he’s left behind.
“My focus now is on building on that success as well as growing the team, expanding our client portfolio and continuing to strengthen our presence across the Midlands. It’s an exciting time for the business and I’m proud to be playing a part in its next chapter.”
Craig Alsbury, Principal and National Head of Planning at Avison Young said: “This is a fantastic appointment and I’m really pleased to see Tim step into this key role. I brought Tim into the business back in 2006 and have worked closely with him ever since. He has exactly the right experience, skills and drive needed to take the team forward, and I am confident that he will take them to new heights.
“Nick has done an amazing job over the last couple of years, and I am immensely grateful for the contribution he has made to reshaping the team. Nick is not going anywhere, he is critical to the services that we provide for a number of nationally significant clients and he will continue to play key roles on major mandates and projects going forward.”
Serving clients since 1980, the Midlands planning team now accounts for nearly 20 per cent of Avison Young’s national planning workforce. In his new role, Tim will join the Midlands office leadership team, led by Principal and Managing Director Helen Collins, and will also become part of Avison Young’s National Planning Leadership Board.
