On Tuesday 3rd March 2026 , Downtown in Business hosted our Pre-MIPIM lunch at the beautiful The Lowry Hotel in Greater Manchester bringing together members, partners and key stakeholders ahead of this year’s MIPIM Property festival.
The event provided an opportunity for senior leaders from across the public and private sectors to share insight, exchange ideas and help shape the narrative that the UK’s cities and regions will take to Cannes next week. The discussion was focused, ambitious and refreshingly optimistic about the opportunities ahead.
Conversations centred on the priorities for the year ahead, the scale of opportunity across the UK, and how we ensure that our presence at MIPIM is purposeful and impactful. From investment pipelines and regeneration programmes to the importance of policy alignment and strong public-private partnerships, there was clear agreement that collaboration and clarity of vision will be essential if the UK is to compete confidently on the global stage.
Events like this are an important part of the work Downtown in Business does to convene decision-makers and create the space for meaningful dialogue ahead of major international gatherings. With so many influential voices in the room, the lunch helped ensure that partners travelling to MIPIM are aligned, prepared and ready to make the most of the opportunities the week presents.
