Pat gave guests a overview of her career and highlighted the investment into the civic estate, which includes the Town Hall, St Peter’s Square and Central Library as a crucial investment that was a catalyst for further private sector investment and regeneration in the area, which has seen it become a decisive part of the city centre.

Pat highlighted Manchester’s strengths in the past have always been strong public and private sector partnerships and the ability of the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester working together being the key driver in making the city what it is today.

With over 50,000 residents now living within Manchester City Centre, Pat spoke of the new challenges it creates but one that the city are well aware of and will work hard to deliver in the future.

Director of Downtown in Business, Chris McKenna said ‘It was a fantastic way to kick off the week. You only have to look at the cranes dominating the Manchester skyline to see the amount of regeneration in the city and it was great  for our members to hear first-hand from Pat the challenges and opportunities that scale of regeneration brings’
