Everton makes Royal Liver Building new headquarters

Everton Football Club has relocated its headquarters from Goodison Park into new state-of-the-art facilities at the Royal Liver Building.

Staff from the Club’s Finance, People Services, Marketing and Media and Communications teams are among the 160 staff who have moved into the refurbished 28,000 sq. ft. office space located on the seventh floor of the Grade I listed Liverpool City landmark.

This historic relocation from Goodison Park, the Club’s headquarters for 126 years, sees Everton establish itself in the heart of the city’s commercial centre bringing the Club closer to the Liverpool’s business community. The Club is neighbouring other industry leaders such as Grant Thornton and the Club’s principal partner, SportPesa, in the iconic building which opened in 1911.

The Club’s new offices offer panoramic views across the River Mersey, along the famous waterfront and into the heart of Liverpool City Centre. They have been designed to create an environment that is conducive to staff wellbeing while also creating a platform for collaboration and growth. The open-plan offices sit predominantly to the West, East and South elevations of the building. The sleek main reception, state-of-the-art Boardroom, meeting rooms and café bar look out towards Bramley Moore Dock, the proposed site for Everton Football Club’s new stadium development.

Everton’s rich history and the Club’s values are reflected in the décor with custom-designed graphics and memorabilia on display around the whole of the offices.

The move to the Royal Liver Building comes after CEO Professor Denise Barrett-Baxendale, announced her new ‘Everton Leadership team’ – and the nine-strong executive director level positions line-up will be responsible for the day-to-day operations across the Club, supporting the Board of Directors – and the new Director of Football, Marcel Brands – to achieve Everton’s long-term ambitions on and off the field.

The new Everton Leadership team:

David Harrison is promoted from the position of Head of Football Operations to Director of Football Operations. David also acts as Club Secretary.

Richard Kenyon will take on an expanded role to become Director of Marketing, Communications and Community. Richard will also take on the position of Chief Executive of Everton in the Community.

Grant Ingles will rejoin the Club in July to take up the role of Finance Director. Grant is making the move back to Everton from Liverpool FC, where he was Head of Finance.

Alan McTavish becomes the Club’s Commercial Director. He joined Everton from Watford in 2015, initially as the Club’s Head of Commercial Partnerships and has been responsible for securing the Club’s record Main Partnership deal and its first Sleeve Partner contract.

Peter Shaw will become Director of Operations and will join the Club this month. Peter has extensive experience in senior operational, commercial and finance roles.

Joel Waldron becomes the Club’s Academy Director.  Joel will oversee the Academy operations at USM Finch Farm in an expanded role from his current position of Academy Manager.

Paul McNicholas becomes Director of Risk and Governance. He joined Everton in 2016 as Head of Risk and Governance, having worked as Head of Risk for Manchester Airport Group for four years following more than a decade as a specialist in governance, risk management and internal audit for Deloitte.

Kim Healey becomes the Club’s People Director. Kim has more than 14 years’ experience in leading HR functions at football clubs, including spells at Blackburn and Wigan. She has been Head of HR at Everton since 2015.

There is one remaining position to be filled on the new Everton Leadership team. The recruitment process for this final position of Stadium Development Director is currently underway and will be completed soon.
