Race is runaway success for Rosemere

Rosemere Cancer Foundation was the race’s official charity. It received £1 for every entrant plus a donation for supplying route marshalls for the 10-mile August race and its tandem five mile run, which were sponsored by Preston and Chorley based solicitors Marsden Rawsthorn. It also received a number of free places for runners willing to be sponsored to race in its name.

Dan said: “We would like to thank Michael and his race team for choosing Rosemere Cancer Foundation as official race charity, Marsden Rawsthorn for covering its staging costs, which freed up the funds for us to receive this donation, and everyone who entered and spectated to make the event so successful.”

Entry to next year’s race has already opened online. Go to https://comteq.niftyentries.com/City-Of-Preston-Road-Races-2019 to register and receive an early bird discount on entry fees throughout September. Next year’s race date is Sunday, 11th August. The race will follow the same two, five-mile lap course, which starts and finishes at Walmer Bridge Village Hall.

Rosemere Cancer Foundation works to bring world class cancer treatments and services to cancer patients from throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria being treated at Rosemere Cancer Centre, the region’s specialist cancer treatment centre at the Royal Preston Hospital, and at another eight hospitals across the two counties that also look after cancer patients.

The charity funds vital equipment, research, training and other cancer services that are beyond limited NHS resources. For further information on its work, including how to make a donation, visit  www.rosemere.org.uk
