“By its very nature the industry evolves on a regular basis and I feel that our students are well equipped to handle these changes and succeed in what is a very exciting global industry. We are very aware of the professional qualifications that students would need to sit to start in practice and we work closely with the awarding bodies to offer credit exemptions and have designed the modules to prepare the students for these additional qualifications.”
BA (Hons) Accounting with Financial Services graduate Aaminah Nassar achieved a First Class Honours Degree at the University Centre at Blackburn College.
Aaminah said: “I had been considering a career change since leaving College and I am so glad that I made the leap – the continuous support from my lecturers, especially Angelo, has provided me with a clean cut career path within finance to follow.
“Having now graduated, I would like to work my way up within the financial sector and thanks to the support of my tutors, I believe that I can become the best in whatever I do. I’m very grateful for the amazing experience that I had at the University Centre at Blackburn College.”
Aaminah added: “My tutors provided me with nothing but the best support throughout my studies and made my love for Accounting and Finance grow beyond anything I could have expected. In addition to obtaining great subject knowledge, we also worked on additional employability skills such as effective communication with clients.
“I am currently applying for Graduate schemes such as the Graduate Analyst Scheme at the Royal Bank of Scotland and really look forward to what the future holds. I would definitely recommend studying at the University Centre at Blackburn College.”
