New starter: Stacie Read joins Equilibrium’s expanding team!

Why did you join Equilibrium?

I joined Equilibrium as an Account Manager because I honestly believe we have something special to provide to our customers and the partnerships I have built over the years. I was already familiar with Equilibrium as I partnered with them when working for another successful security reseller. They always went above and beyond for our customers whilst achieving what they set out to do. They finish the job and understand there are budget restraints and obstacles they need to overcome.

What are you most looking forward to?

I am most looking forward to looking at the threat landscape and designing suitable product packages and services for my customers and helping them achieve their goals. I am also looking forward to starting new relationships with other partners and key players in the industry as well as supporting my peers and celebrating our own success as a business.

What are you interested in outside of work

Outside of work I spend a lot of time thinking about Cyber Security (I’m not making that up I wanted my own business) I often find myself talking about it to family and friends, but I do break away and enjoy the odd glass of wine or a sweet whiskey. I spend a lot of time on my new home doing projects, but I enjoy Hiking and travel. I have been to the foot of Mt Everest and you could possibly call me an adrenaline junkie having done sky dives, marathons and scuba diving in the past.

What is your career and education history?

I have always been an Account Manager, in fact I was 16 when I did my first sales team leader role and it was very successful. I was in the Territorial Army for about 3 years until I became a student at Birmingham City University and studied Music (quite the contrast) this was a great hobby of mine but realised that it wasn’t a career choice. I left there with Distinctions and decided to find a role in which I can develop my sales ability. I worked as an Account manager for a long time and found this matched my personality and skill set. I spent a short time at one of the world’s largest security companies and gained a lot of insight into the industry. I decided to come back to what I love the most and that is being independent and consultative from an overall IT perspective, so here I am! Ready to take on the world at Equilibrium!
