Ping Pong Fight Club, a spectacular inter-company ping pong tournament, party and networking event is returning to Liverpool on April 4th, 2019 at Camp and Furnace, kick-starting Fight Club’s 2019 UK Tour.
“The tournament will attract start-ups and sector leaders from across Liverpool who will play, party and compete for ultimate bragging rights, to be crowned Ping Pong Fight Club Champions,” maintains Adrian Leigh, CEO of Ping Pong Fight Club.
“It’s not just about the tournament though. Hundreds of supporters will enjoy a spectacular evening of entertainment featuring; VR ping pong, DJs, social ping pong zones for ‘friendly’ and pro-player challenges, speed ping pong networking, inter-company ‘buddy-up’ doubles tournaments, ping pong robot team challenges (taking on all-comers in a 60 second duel), pop-up bars, face- painters for ‘butterflies and battle scars’, street food, beer-pong championships and huge prizes.
“Sixteen companies take part, yielding 64 competitors, but there can be only one winner” adds Adrian with a brand-new pro table tennis table as the Champion’s prize, delivered to the victor’s offices, compliments of Ping Pong Fight Club.
For those ping pong gladiators that don’t make it through the first rounds there is the ‘Chancers Championships’ for a second crack at glory. Every point won counts towards the overall Team Championships and inclusion in the Ping Pong Fight Club ‘Hall of Fame’. Current holders Signature Living will be back in force, aiming to see off any challengers and retain their title.
Since its launch in Liverpool in 2017, companies have discovered that Ping Pong Fight Club is an energising and inclusive new way to engage, bond and motivate their teams. From the intern to the CEO, everyone gets to play, network, have fun and socialise with their colleagues, and like-minded people from companies across their city.
“Forget the golf course, ping pong is the new way to connect,” insists Adrian.
There are packages to suit every size of company and budget from ‘The Lightweight’ (18 guests including 4 team players) to ‘Gold’ (104 guests). Every package includes company branded Ping Pong Fight Club t-shirts, cool Ping Pong Fight Club headbands and wristbands.
Last year, Ping Pong Fight Club also trialled coaching support to help companies encourage more women to play and compete,” said Adrian. “It was a fantastic success and we also saw more women signing up to play than ever before. All the companies that sign up to PPFC Liverpool this year will get the opportunity to enter an all-women’s team for free.
To further nurture and develop skills, we are pledging two professional coaching lessons from Table Tennis England (the national governing body of table tennis) to help more women get competition-ready. Plus, we generally want more women pick up a paddle in the workplace and demonstrate their ping pong skills.
The 2019 Ping Pong Fight Club tour will also include Leeds, London, Manchester, Cardiff, Bristol and Sheffield.
