VWV Steps Up to Change Young Lives

National law firm VWV has raised £11,660 in support of The Prince's Trust's 'Future Steps' challenge.

National law firm VWV has raised £11,660 in support of The Prince’s Trust’s ‘Future Steps’ challenge, with one team in first place for fundraising out of 672 corporate teams across the country.

The Future Steps challenge saw teams from all corners of the UK compete to take the most steps across February, raising as much money as they can for The Prince’s Trust. The charity provides practical and financial support to vulnerable young people, and helps them develop key skills along the road to further education, training, and employment. It was chosen last year as VWV’s Charity of the Year.

15 teams across VWV’s offices in Birmingham, London, Watford, and Bristol have banded together and taken part in the challenge. Sporting fantastic team names such as ‘Brums of Steel’, ‘Scrambled Legs’, and ‘Unfit to Practice’, they have taken an impressive 35 million steps.

Team ‘Walk the Walk’ led the nation’s fundraising efforts, with £3,666 raised for The Prince’s Trust, whilst VWV is currently in first place overall for funds raised across all competing companies. Two members of team ‘Hotsteppers’ even dedicated a day’s holiday towards reaching 50,000 steps each in just one day.

The Future Steps challenge is the latest in a long line of charitable projects supported by the firm, with regular cake sales in each office throughout the year, and even a Christmas market to ramp up fundraising for The Prince’s Trust.

Abigail Evans, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at The Prince’s Trust, celebrated the firm’s efforts:

“We are so proud of our corporate partner VWV who has smashed The Prince’s Trust Future Steps challenge in every way possible!

Out of a total of 672 teams taking part, VWV are top of the leader board for fundraising with a fantastic £11,660 raised. VWV’s fifteen participating teams have collectively taken 35,434,039 steps to help young people in the UK move towards a better future for themselves.

Future Steps aims to help our supporters get fit with fellow employees, have fun and raise funds to help young people transform their lives, and this is exactly what VWV has done with incredible success.”
