Lancashire Business View has been named as a finalist in the ‘news and magazine’ category at the Prolific North awards which celebrate excellence in the creative and media industries across the North.
The bi-monthly print magazine, with its 30,000 readers, is at the heart of the operation, and the stable of media products also includes a daily updated website; an innovative facility for readers to self-upload stories to LBV Hub; and bulletins issued to more than 12,000 online subscribers.
In addition, Lancashire Business View has developed an extensive programme of events in the county including the national award-winning Red Rose Awards; the Sub36 networking and awards programme for younger people in business; Lancashire Day celebrations; regular networking opportunities; and a host of sector and sub-region events.
The shortlisting caps an exciting year of growth for the Blackburn-based team, which has seen significant investment in the redesigns of the print magazine and website, as well as the launch of ‘Buy it in Lancashire’, the campaign to bring £1bn of spend into the county by persuading Lancashire procurers to purchase more from Lancashire suppliers.
Richard Slater, publisher, who founded Lancashire Business View in 2005, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for this award.
“We’re a small, noisy and enthusiastic team with a lot of ideas and a lot of energy. We are also very proud to fly the flag for high-quality independent publishing and first-class journalism.
“We champion Lancashire’s business excellence in pursuit of our mission – getting others to recognise that excellence and buy more from Lancashire businesses.
“We drill that down to a simple phrase: ‘If you can buy it in Lancashire, buy it in Lancashire!’”
Winners will be announced on Thursday 23 May 2019 at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester.
