As a company with a focus on staff wellbeing, B&M Waste Services are aware that keeping staff members hydrated will aid them to perform at their very best throughout the work day.

As a result, B&M decided to invest in watercoolers from AquAid.

B&M Waste’s unique relationship with AquAid has provided the opportunity to help those less fortunate, as with each purchase, an automatic donation is made to the Africa Trust. These funds are used to build ‘Elephant Pumps’ – a modified version of an age old Chinese rope pulley system. One such pump is currently being installed in Africa on B&M’s behalf, and will be a much needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for many.

B&M Waste’s name will be proudly displayed on the well and the company look forward to sharing a photo and letters of thanks from the villagers in the near future.

To date, AquAid have built over 8,000 such Elephant Pumps across parts of Zimbabwe, Malawi and Liberia; and have donated in excess of £14 million to charity.

Neil Curtis, Director at B&M Waste Services, commented: “We are delighted to receive the news of the B&M Waste funded Elephant Pump currently being installed in Africa. The AqaAid programme is a fantastic project for us to be involved with and we look forward to sharing the images of the pump in action later on this year.”
