Emms Gilmore Liberson expands Birmingham headquarters

An expanding law firm has moved into new offices in Birmingham city centre in response to sustained demand for its wide range of commercial legal services.

Emms Gilmore Liberson (EGL) has taken an additional 2,300 sq ft of refurbished office space adjacent to its existing offices within Lancaster House, on the junction of Newhall Street and Great Charles Street Queensway.

The move will allow the law firm to accommodate future growth, providing capacity for up to an additional 28 employees and brings its combined office space within the building to 8,000 sq ft.

The firm recently doubled its number of partners to eight, with the appointment of Jonathan Wright from Fieldfisher, and promotion of Richard Cooper, Beth Margetson and Jon Start. It has also strengthened its property litigation team with two senior new hires.

Mark Dakeyne, partner at EGL, said: “Birmingham city centre has been our home since formation more than eight years ago and Lancaster House was the obvious choice when considering new office space in which to expand our operation. The office’s modern style and additional meeting and breakout space, perfectly fits our consultative approach as a business.

“EGL has built a reputation for delivering commercially-informed professional advice from a first-class team of lawyers at an affordable price, setting us apart from many of our competitors. The firm is unique in that it attracts the kind of high quality clients that are often only seen at national and global firms and we continue to grow consistently. Our location is very convenient for transport connections, just outside the inner core traffic restrictions, making it convenient for clients to visit and for us to service them wherever they may be based.”
