Everton in the Community has appointed Lesley Beattie as its new Director of Development where her focus will be to support the management and growth of the charity.

Lesley brings a wealth of commercial experience to the position, including a role at Liverpool City Council where she created its first Commercial Division. After generating more than £6million of income for the Council, Lesley moved back to the private sector before creating her own consultancy in 2018 to concentrate on helping both public and private sector businesses with their commercial strategies.

Lesley joins Everton in the Community at an exciting time and she will work closely with Chief Executive Officer Richard Kenyon and her fellow Directors to shape and take a lead in delivering the commercial element of a growth strategy for the charity through its existing fundraising initiatives, corporate partnerships and lotteries products as well as the development of new products and services.

Commenting on her appointment, Everton in the Community’s new Director of Development Lesley Beattie said: “This fantastic charity encompasses all of the values I hold dear and I am looking forward to getting started and working with my team to influence and effect positive and social outcomes across a range of diverse and worthwhile projects.

“I have experience in many of the areas that Everton in the Community lead on and I believe that my passion for making a difference, coupled with my commercial experience and networks will provide positive results for the charity and also provide me with a personal sense of achievement.”

Everton in the Community Chief Executive Officer Richard Kenyon added: “I am really pleased to welcome Lesley to our team of Directors. She brings extensive experience and skills which I am sure will help us grow and develop even further.”
