The event will run from Monday 18 to Saturday 23 November and it will present its most extensive Official Selection yet, showcasing short films from more than 30 countries around the globe, making this edition of the Expo truly an international effort.

Workshops and masterclasses are presented across the week for all areas of the creative spectrum providing valuable insight into the industry, with special guests including Carole Solazzo, a scriptwriter from The Archers; Janine Bebbington and David Chandler, creators of LuneTube – the online channel for North Lancashire; dance artist Bridget Fiske; Carl Hunter, director of Sometimes Always Never starring Bill Nighy; and Ra Page – editor of Comma Press.

The Great Northern Creative Expo is proud to cover all aspects of culture and the creative industries; from film to television, from fine art to popular culture, from law to languages; this Expo is the place to witness creativity in the making.

Expo Director Alan Keegan, Director of Business Development – UK Partnerships for the Faculty of Culture and the Creative Industries at UCLan, says: “We are proud to offer our most comprehensive and diverse programme of events ever with over two hundred hours presented as part of The Great Northern Creative Expo 2019. We continue on in the spirit of the Expo’s original founding principal of delivering the best events across the creative industries in the North of England.”

Richard Albiston, Creative Producer of the 2019 Expo, adds: “The Official Selection is a particular highlight of this programme which couldn’t happen without the tireless support of the Faculty of Culture and the Creative Industries at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). It is a fabulous opportunity for the students to engage and demonstrate their talents to an international audience.”
