Leading financial firm, Sedulo, has advised the shareholders of Stockport County FC on their sale of the club to local businessman, Mark Stott.
Sedulo, represented by Benn Longshaw and Dan Wilson, have been an integral part of Stockport County’s finance division since it emerged from administration in 2010.
County, who currently compete in the Vanarama National League, will now be left debt-free following the sale.
Former chairman and now non-executive Charmain, Richard Park, said:
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our tenure at the helm of Stockport Country and feel that the time is right to pass on the baton to Mark and his team to take the club back into the Football League. We are proud to have been a part of the club’s rich history and to be able to exit when the club is in such a stable financial position and debt-free. We wish Mark and County all the best for the rest of the season and for the ones to come.”
Head of Audit and Compliance at Sedulo, Dan Wilson, said:
“Having worked with them closely over the past few years, it has been a pleasure assisting the shareholders on the club’s sale to Mark Stott. It’s brilliant to see the hard work that has been put in to stabilise the club pay off by enabling investment such as this. As a County fan myself you can’t help but be excited by Mark’s vision for the club.”
Louise Hebborn and Terri Meehan from Stephensons Solicitors provided legal support to the shareholders.
