Technology firm makes landmark new client announcement

Gas Tag, the Liverpool based company that specialises in compliance technology, has announced that Housing Plus Group has become the first provider to implement its new fire safety product.

Gas Tag, the Liverpool based company that specialises in compliance technology, has announced that Housing Plus Group has become the first provider to implement its new fire safety product.

Fire Door has been developed by Gas Tag to support housing providers and landlords with the management of their first safety process amidst changing regulations across the housing sector.

The announcement is a landmark moment for Gas Tag as it is the company’s first move into other compliance areas. It is expected that Gas Tag will announce further product extensions later this year.

Housing Plus Group has begun implementing the new technology to over 400 blocks and offices, covering more than 6,000 fire doors. The provider, which manages 18,000 properties across Staffordshire and Shropshire, was also one of the first organisations to adopt the original Gas Tag product.

Fire Door is an extension of the current Gas Tag technology. A physical tag is placed in a property or block and tracks all of the fire door inspections and servicing work carried out. The data is then fed back to the provider’s online platform in real-time.

Once fully implemented, Fire Door will allow Housing Plus Group to effectively manage inspections, collate data and report accurately on important fire safety data.

Stephen Collins, Executive Director of Property at Housing Plus Group, said: “We are very excited to be the first housing provider to implement Gas Tag’s new product, Fire Door.

“As an organisation, we are always keen to invest in technology that can support us in keeping our residents safe. Thanks to our long-standing and successful partnership with Gas Tag, we have been able to see this product develop and play a role in ensuring it is what the industry needs.

“Gas Tag has already demonstrated the quality of its gas compliance product and we look forward to having Fire Door up and running.”

John Roche, Chief Operating Officer at Gas Tag, said: “We are delighted that Housing Plus Group has demonstrated its continued belief in Gas Tag and our products by becoming the first provider to sign up for Fire Door.

“Fire Door is an innovative product that has been developed to support the housing sector to easily manage its compliance processes and above all keep its residents safe.

“We believe that in an era of increasing regulation, technology has a vital role to play in helping housing providers to meet their obligations. Fire Door is the first of many new compliance products we plan to release over the coming year.”

Gas Tag’s award-winning gas compliance solution revolutionised the way gas safety was managed in the housing sector when launched in 2018. The organisation is now using the same innovative technology to develop a full compliance suite to support housing providers and landlords to manage safety through technology.
