Sutcliffe Civil & Structural Engineers: Reaction to lockdown announcement by Government on 17th July

Sean Keyes, Managing Director of Civil & Structural Engineering firm, Sutcliffe has responded to the government's announcement on Friday 17th July 2020.

Sean Keyes, Managing Director of Civil & Structural Engineering firm, Sutcliffe has responded to the government’s announcement on Friday 17th July 2020.

“Sutcliffe has a workforce of approaching 50 employees, and from the moment the country went into lockdown back in March we have continued to have regular consultation with them to determine and accommodate their individual needs and wishes during this unprecedented time. While I welcome today’s announcement by the Government on encouraging people to return to work, it is important that both the employee and the employer make that decision together, and that the workplace meets all the Government Covid-safety guidelines.

“I am a firm believer that face-to-face collaboration among the team gets you the best results – not to mention the positive impact it has on personal mental health and team morale. I also look around the streets around the Sutcliffe head office here on Harrington Street – and it is clear that we need to be getting our workforce back into our city centres to support local businesses and to get the economy motoring again.”
