Business Administration Apprentice Annalise Bartley recently represented Blackburn College on the Parliament Live TV podcast.

Business Administration Apprentice Annalise Bartley recently represented Blackburn College on the Parliament Live TV podcast.

Joined by a Committee of MPs and three other Apprentices from across the country, Annalise spoke about her experience as an Apprentice during the COVID-19 pandemic and how she has been supported by the College.

The discussion came as part of the House of Commons Education Committee’s inquiry into the impact of COVID-19 on Education and Children’s Services. The section which Annalise featured on specifically focused on Further Education and Apprenticeships and how these can be promoted moving forward.

Annalise has completed the College’s Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship and is currently employed by Rinus Roofing Supplies in Darwen, where she has progressed to the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship (Standard) with Blackburn College.

Annalise, 19 from Blackburn, said: “During the COVID-19 period, Blackburn College have supported me with regular one-to-ones over video calls to make sure I am on track with my Apprenticeship.

“This was a whole new experience for me as I had never used Zoom before! But the calls were helpful and they definitely kept me motivated.

“Obviously, the video call practice was handy for when I took part on Parliament Live TV. It was great to be put forward by the College and to be part of the discussion.”
