Despatch Cloud Rides New Covid Ecommerce Boom

Yorkshire-based software company Despatch Cloud is experiencing momentous growth during the Covid-19 pandemic, beating its third successive growth target with an increase in sales of 300%.

Yorkshire-based software company Despatch Cloud is experiencing momentous growth during the Covid-19 pandemic, beating its third successive growth target with an increase in sales of 300%.

This marks the third successive year in which the business has been able to beat its sales targets, but the turnover increase for 2020 has been particularly impressive.

Cyber security expert and Despatch Cloud founder Matthew Dunne attributes this success to the growth of online buying during the Covid-19 outbreak, which he says has worked in the company’s favour. “Some of our clients have seen their sales increase in excess of 3000%,” explains Matthew. “This causes a huge disruption, and they are now looking for ways to be more efficient. Despatch Cloud can help them achieve their goals.”

In addition, Matthew points out the structural changes which are happening within the eCommerce space. These changes include a major acceleration of the online shopping space for everything from groceries to subscription services.

While there is lots of online activity happening at the moment, it seems that the shift is likely to become long-term, with eCommerce continuing to grow. As a result, Matthew is now looking at opportunities for international expansion. The next growth stage is already underway, with the launch of the Courier API service, which is designed to enable enterprise customs and rival solutions provided by American companies.

Courier API has been designed with medium to large enterprises in mind, and links businesses to supported courier or postal services, giving them access to a range of both national and international services and tracking. With many more companies exporting to Europe and looking for opportunities where they can update their software to comply with new custom regulations, there are increasing opportunities for the business to expand.

The solution was built with the latest internet technology, giving companies a plug and play approach to connecting their eCommerce systems to their couriers.

As the driving force behind the project, Matthew Dunne admits he’s hopeful that the North of England will continue to build world-class tech. “There’s plenty of talent and ambition here. It’s great to see projects like the Northern Powerhouse highlighting what can be achieved,” Matthew says. “We have a world-beating product which was designed and produced in Yorkshire, and gaining interest from companies all over the world.”
