Bosses and experts line up for equity investment event

Experts and bosses are coming together to take the mystery out of using private equity as a driver for business growth.

Experts and bosses are coming together to take the mystery out of using private equity as a driver for business growth.

Using first-hand experiences from the worlds of finance and business, Private Equity: How It Works! is designed to show north west businesses that private equity investment is a springboard to growth.

Part of Lancashire Business View’s conference series, the event takes place on June 17 at 10am via Zoom.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View, said: “This event is designed to remove the mystery around Private Equity, dispel the myths and offer solid advice that can help businesses grow.”

It will feature insight from speakers including Jennifer Bell, partner at Baines Wilson, Mark Clephan, head of EY corporate finance in North, and John Clarke, investment director at LDC.

The experts will give guidance across the full journey of private equity, from preparing for investment and securing the best deal to executing a growth plan and gearing for exit.

Richard Slater added: “There’s also an important human aspect to any private equity story, and that’s something we’ll focus on with business people who have been through the process.”

First-hand accounts will be shared in interviews and panel discussions by businesses who themselves have taken private equity investment.

Also on the agenda will be private equity’s role in accelerating growth plans including attacking new markets, developing products and services or pursuing acquisitions.

Jennifer Bell, partner at Baines Wilson, said: “We hope to help businesses simplify and understand the legal processes that are essential to protecting any business throughout the various stages of a funding journey.”

Mark Clephan, head of EY corporate finance in North, said: “We want to be part of this opportunity to help businesses make an informed choice as to why Private Equity may be the right option for them”.

LDC investment director, John Clarke, said “As we emerge from the pandemic, we’re excited to demystify private equity to local businesses and showcase the range of growth strategies that a supportive private equity partner can help to unlock.”

Lancashire Business View will also report in-depth on the event in its July/August 2021 print issue, online and through social channels to more than 50,000 readers.
