Sutcliffe, the Liverpool-based property consultancy, has appointed Daron Williams MRICS as Associate Director as the firm expands across the North.
Daron joins Sutcliffe with over 20 years experience delivering complex, large-scale developments across the UK’s commercial, residential, life sciences and technology sectors. Most recently serving as Building & Construction Director at Bruntwood SciTech, he has led multi-disciplinary teams nationally including Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Cheshire and Cambridge. The appointment strengthens Sutcliffe’s capability to deliver across multiple sectors as the company designs approximately 4,000 homes annually and continues to secure major framework wins. Darons’ expertise in building surveying, portfolio management and development delivery aligns with Sutcliffe’s strategic expansion in the North.
Sean Keyes, CEO of Sutcliffe, said: “Whilst we’re proud to have built our reputation over four decades through the quality of our engineering and our commitment to the communities we serve, we’re also clear-eyed about the scale of the challenges ahead. The construction industry needs experienced professionals who understand both the technical complexity of major developments and the practical realities of delivering projects and infrastructure that communities depend on.
“Daron brings precisely that combination – someone who’s supported the delivery of hundreds of millions of pounds worth of projects across diverse sectors, managed large teams, and understands what it takes to turn ambitious plans into built reality. However, what particularly impressed us was his track record of building capability within organisations, developing teams and creating the systems that deliver consistent quality. That’s exactly the approach we need as we expand our footprint in the North region and continue to tackle the housing delivery challenge facing this region.”
A Chartered Building Surveyor and Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Daron holds a First Class Honours degree in Building Surveying from the University of Salford. In his previous role he has led teams to deliver an extensive refurbishment, planned maintenance, professional services and capital projects across a number of regions within its 5m sq.ft under management, with particular expertise in life sciences facilities, mixed-use developments, and complex refurbishments of listed buildings. He has project managed the delivery of a number of capital projects from £15m office to residential conversions up to the pre-contract delivery of £250m life-science master-planning and enabling projects.
Daron Williams said: “Sutcliffe’s 40-year track record of delivering quality projects across the North West, combined with their clear vision for growth, made this an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. After spending two decades working across large portfolios in major cities, I’ve seen first-hand the impact that well-delivered construction projects have on communities – from workspaces where businesses grow to the homes people live in.
“What attracted me to Sutcliffe was their practical, no-nonsense approach to tackling the region’s housing and infrastructure needs, combined with the exciting opportunity to expand this approach into other sectors. I’m looking forward to supporting the strategic direction and adding further value to our clients, ultimately building on our well-established reputation as we move into this next phase of growth”
