Paula Davies has been appointed as the Commercial Development Manager for Downtown in Business Lancashire.

The private sector lobby group and business networking club celebrates its sixteenth year in the county this year and has plans to grow its Lancashire membership and step up its campaigning and policy work in the area.

On her appointment, the DIB Group Chair and Chief Executive Frank McKenna commented; “I am sure Paula is going to be an excellent addition to the DIB team. Those who know her will tell you she is a force of nature – and we are looking forward to welcoming her energy and dynamism to Downtown in Business in Lancashire.”

Paula added: “I have had a long and successful career in Lancashire, and I am really excited about the next chapter of my journey. Downtown in Business has a track record of promoting the county, supporting its businesses, and hosting fantastic corporate events. I want to strengthen and grow our membership here and I am looking forward to crating new friendships – and maintaining old ones in my new role too.”

About Paula Davies

Once you’ve met Paula Davies, you won’t forget her!

Her career in media, sales and promotions has seen her managing £1m+ operations, mixing with politicians and celebrities and signing large corporate deals. But the married mum is just as happy rolling up her sleeves and getting stuck into projects that help the local community.

She rose through the ranks of PR and promotions at one of the UK’s biggest tourist attractions, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and more recently played a major role in corporate sales at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, which boasts a new £28m conference centre.

However, Paula is best known in Lancashire as the former station director at Radio Wave on the Fylde Coast – a radio station that always punched above its weight in income generation. Her vision was that Wave should always support the local community and Paula worked tirelessly arranging events such as the Local Heroes Awards and the annual on-air charity auction which raised money for the Blue Skies appeal at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

She’s a big believer in businesses working together to support each other and played a key role in networking events in her hometown of Fleetwood.

Paula’s always got a listening ear if you have a problem in business and probably a few suggestions on how to resolve the issue.
