The fund is generated from the overnight £2 per room per night visitor charge, managed by the Liverpool Accommodation BID.

Liverpool Business Improvement District is heading to ballot with a proposal that would unlock more than £10m of investment into Liverpool city centre through a new five-year term for the Culture & Commerce BID.

Liverpool could receive added £10m investment to make the city a more attractive proposition, with its city centre squares restored.

The Liverpool Business Improvement District and Downtown in Business will lead a delegation of industry leaders from the hospitality sector and wider visitor economy this week, as they launch their national campaign ‘Unlock Britain’s Visitor Economy’ at Westminster next week.

Downtown in Business and Liverpool Business Improvement District have written an open letter to the Chancellor of the Exchequer raising serious concerns about the current design of business rates reform.

The campaign will bring together business leaders, BIDs, hotels, retailers, cultural venues, and parliamentarians to press government for a more pro-growth, business-led approach to supporting the visitor economy.
