Shadow Minister outlines Labour economic plans to DIB members

The MP for Wirral South, Alison McGovern, was the keynote speaker at an exclusive DIB leader’s lunch in Liverpool recently discussing Labours economic plans to DIB members.

The shadow employment Minister Alison McGovern was a guest of Downtown in Business Liverpool last week.

The MP for Wirral South was the keynote speaker at an exclusive leader’s lunch in the city, and she spoke about the challenges within the economy, what policy changes Labour would implement to improve the economic and business environment, and her ideas about devolving powers around the skills, training, end employment agenda.

DIB chief executive Frank McKenna said:

“It is always great for our members to engage with senior politicians. Alison, as ever, was very open in her commentary about issues affecting the wider UK economy, but also issues across the Liverpool City Region.

“it was also good to hear her say that she wants to hear more from business, particularly SMEs, to find out what a Labour government could do to help us in the future.”
